Karma couldn't (or wouldn't🙄) walk on leash when she came to me. This is her about 10 days into a 2 week board & train.
When Dakota came to me, she kinda/sorta knew sit. She had some behavioral issues, like jumping, and squirming like a wiggle bug when you tried to put he harness on. This is her on day 11 of a 2 week board & train.
One of things I worked with Dakota on was impulse control, or the ability to wait until given permission before doing something.
Wulf, a Yorkshire Terrorist ... er, Terrior, was driving his mom up the walls. I strengthened his basic obedience, and added some new behaviors including "Your Place" and "Leave It".
Practice makes perfect.
One of the issues that Wulf's mom wanted addressed was his leash reactivity: barking at other dogs, strollers, joggers, bicyclists, etcetera. This is the new Wulf on the morning he returned home.
Another important part of Penny's training included a strong recall. This is in the woods behind my house.
Like a lot of dogs, Penny was a little leash reactive when she came to me for training. One of the reasons I like working on the American Tobacco Trail in Durham, NC is because you run across all kinds of people engaged in all kinds of activities!
Penny 3 days before the end of her 2 week board & train. Terrible on leash, she was squirrelly about squirrels.
As I mentioned, all kinds of people engaged in all kinds of activities.
And just when you thought you saw it all...!
Koda is a six month old Mini Aussie who joined me on 2/28/2021 for a one week board & train. Part of his training included socialization with other dogs and people.
One of the things that Koda's mom wanted Koda to learn was to play fetch.
Koda demonstrating extraordinary self-control & focus for a six-month old puppy!
Koda rejoined me on 5/22/2021 for further training. Koda's mom wanted him to be responsive off leash. Here he is on the American Tobacco Trail showing off his new skills in Heavy Traffic. Pretty impressive for an 8 month old puppy!
"Deer Prudence, won't you come out to play?" This was a big test for Little Man! Mom spends a lot of time out in the woods, so Koda needs to be responsive off leash no matter what distractions are thrown at him.
Koda was squirrelly about squirrels, but squirrels ain't nothing after the deer! Here he is off leash showing off new found restraint with a neighborhood squirrel.
Koda Vann Holland on graduation day. Koda's so smart, he makes me look like I know what I am doing!
